All kidding aside, Gundam Vault was launched to share a 20 year passion of mine with others, the wonderful world of Gundam model kits and action figures. I still remember receiving my first Gundam model kit. Aware of my love for Anime and robots, my cousin sparked everything by bringing me my first model kit from her trip to Japan. It was the first edition 1/144 scale HG MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.
Having never built one, I assumed it was similar to the plastic model plane I dreaded putting together as a child. (Yes, plane not planes) Don't get me wrong, putting things together can be fun, but having to glue, paint and apply stickers was always much more than my attention span would allow. This was a robot though, so I figured I'd have to try it once.
To my surprise after opening the box, I realized the pieces were molded in various colors and that they simply snap together? Are you kidding me? I was ecstatic! Like many who first get into the hobby, I started ripping the pieces off of the sprues... (Teaching moment, get a decent set of spure cutters and a hobby knife. The end product will be much nicer!) Anyway, I completed the Zeta and I was hooked!
So you got the scoop on Gundam Vault. Help me ensure that this hobby is still around so I will have something to do when I'm an old man... In the meantime, I will do everything I can to bring YOU the largest variety of Gundam model kits and actions figures available in the US.
